To whom it may concern
To whom it may concern,
I have often wondered
at the marvels the world offers us;
at the time given unto each
and how thick the boundaries to cross.
I have often noticed
that we like to think ourselves
creators of our surroundings;
that we think we can dream without consequence.
There are things joyful and things hurtful
that make out nature humane;
that make us part of our heritage
and yet not fully appreciative.
If I was granted one wish,
I would hope for our feathers never to be lost.
I would have hoped for remembrance and forgiveness.
I hope for more, but less.
I sometimes like to wonder
at our greatness in our ways on this small earth.
